Monument to the People's Heroes Standing 38 meters high, the Monument to the People's Heroes was built in memory of those people who sacrificed their lives during China's struggle against foreign powers and the feudal system. At the base carves eight major revolutionary events in the past century. The Chinese characters on the tablet means "eternal glory to the people's heroes".
