Forbidden City - Ti Ren Pavilion

The front view of the Ti Ren Pavilion.

Another theme in the Forbidden City is symmetry. The major buildings (the Hall of Supreme Harmony, the Hall of Complete Harmony and the Hall of Preserving Harmony) in the Forbidden City are on a north-south axis that divides the city of Bei Jing into east and west equal parts. All the buildings in the Forbidden City are arranged symmetrically along this axis. This symmetry gives the palace a feeling of solemn dignity.
